iCloud+ Storage Prices Increased in 10 Countries This Year

Over the past several months, Apple has raised its prices for some or all iCloud+ storage plans in 10 countries, including Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Turkey, Pakistan, Nigeria, Egypt, Tanzania, and the Philippines. The updated prices for each of these countries are listed in a support document on Apple's website.

iCloud General Feature
In Japan, for example, prices have increased by around 15%.

Storage Tier Old Pricing New Pricing
50GB ¥130 ¥150
200GB ¥400 ¥450
2TB ¥1300 ¥1500
6TB ¥3900 ¥4500
12TB ¥7900 ¥9000

Local currencies in many of the affected countries have declined against the U.S. dollar over the past few years, and that is likely the underlying reason for the price increases. iCloud+ prices in the U.S. have not changed this year.

iCloud+ plans provide users with extra storage beyond the 5GB of free storage included with iCloud by default. The plans also include some other perks, such as iCloud Private Relay, Hide My Email, and HomeKit Secure Video.

I'm not mad at the prices, which are not extremely bad, but I'm mad at no plan between 200GB and 2TB.

I wish that Apple would offer a discount if you purchase iCloud storage on an annual basis

Many companies that charge $9.99 a month charge around $99.99 for the whole year so you get a 20% discount

$9.99 a month is what Apple charges for the 2 TB plan which is the one I have and I would much rather it be billed on an annual basis

Considering how bloody incredibly stingy Apple is with storage capacities, they should be decreasing the prices each year, not upping them. Storage gets cheaper over time, it doesn't get more expensive each year for the same damn capacity.

Yeah they really need to bump the storage available on each tier. As well as offer an annual discount. Their storage pricing is a really bizarre offering it’s just not good value these days at all

You could just create your own 20% discount by buying Apple gift cards when they go on sale.

Target had their Buy a $100 Apple gift card, get a $15 Target gift card offer late last month. If you have a credit card that's giving 5% cash back on Target purchases for the current quarter (e.g. Discover card; Chase Freedom via PayPal payment at Target.com), that is a 20% discount on iCloud... presuming you shop at Target and can use the $15 Target gift card.
