Apple's iPhone 17e is set to launch "imminently" with at least four new features, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.
In the latest edition of his "Power On" newsletter, Gurman said that the new lost-cost iPhone will feature the A19 chip first introduced with the iPhone 17 last year. The device will also address one of the most glaring omissions from the current generation and add MagSafe connectivity. The device is also apparently set to feature Apple's latest cellular modem, the C1X chip, as well as its N1 chip for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Thread connectivity.
Gurman added that the device is set to be sold at the same $599 starting price as the iPhone 16e, proposing to offer more features for the same cost. Apple is said to be planning to market the iPhone 17e heavily to users in emerging markets and enterprises, and could benefit from weakened competition in the segment from competitors like Google and Samsung.

Apple's iPhone development roadmap runs several years into the future and the company is continually working with suppliers on several successive iPhone models at the same time, which is why we often get rumored features months ahead of launch. The iPhone 18 series is no different, and we already have a good idea of what to expect for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
One thing worth...

799 you get the iphone 17 and thats an better overall product
That's been Apple's pricing strategy for years now. There's always something better for just a few hundred more. People stop somewhere along one of these steps (and some of them even go all the way from the first to the last step!):
Step 0. Thinking about getting a new iPhone... iPhone 17e. "I want a new iPhone. Hey, the 17e is new... looks good!"
Step 1. iPhone 17 "Oh, for just a few hundred more I get the 'complete' model.. so yes, maybe let's go for an iPhone 17!"
Step 2. iPhone Air "Oh, but that fancy new iPhone Air is only $200 more and it's got a bigger display, the A19 Pro-chip..."
Step 3. iPhone 17 Pro "Mmh, I will miss out on the ultrawide angle camera if I go for the Air. The 17 Pro is just $100 more. I'm already spending this much, might as well go all-in. After all... better battery life, two more cameras... it's so much better!"
Step 4. iPhone 17 Pro Max "The display on the 17 Pro is a little bit smaller than on the Air, though. So it's a better idea to go for the Max for just another $100 more."
Step 5. Storage upgrade +$200 "Damn, I'm already spending a crazy amount on the 17 Pro Max. This device will last me for at least 5 years! But if I am going to keep it for 5 years, it's only wise to go for a higher storage tier!"
You know iPhone 16e is in top 10 best selling smartphones in 2025 in the world right ? People here a enthusiasts but for average consumer who for whatever reason wants an iPhone over an android-based phone it's great device. Probably a great pick for most kids/olds, non tech savvy people. Its numbers shows it's a lot more than an iPhone just for companies/budget people.
Some people are not comfortable with tech, don't care/know about 120hz (not me for sure lol) and just want the basics executed right (snapiness, battery life, software support, ease of use).
My dad asked me last year before the 17 series was released, “Which iPhone has the best battery life?”
This was him in his mid-70s wanting to buy his first smartphone ever. That’s all he cared about, the battery life. He’s VERY happy with his 16e. He didn’t need or want a Pro Max, his eyesight is damn near perfect (better than mine!) and he’s perfectly fine with a smaller screen/fewer cameras/etc.
The iPhone 16e has shown varied sales performance since its release. In its first partial quarter, it captured 7% of US iPhone sales, rising to 11% in its first full quarter of availability. In Europe, it was the ninth best-selling smartphone in March, accounting for 8% of Apple's total iPhone sales in the region.
Comments on here never mirror reality its just laughable how some of you think because you don't like or think it makes sense its a fail. same nonsense with the Air, you all really believe any of these phones have failed all the while apple is taking top ten spots globally while other manufacturers are slowing in sales
