AirTag 2: Orders and Release Date
Apple has introduced the AirTag 2, and it is available to order now on Apple.com and in the Apple Store app in the U.S. and dozens of other countries.

As of writing, the new AirTag is available for delivery on Wednesday, January 28 or Thursday, January 29 in the U.S., and it will be available to purchase in person at Apple Store locations in many countries starting later this week.
In the U.S., the new AirTag is priced at $29 (for one) or at $99 (for four).

The new AirTag 2 features longer Bluetooth and Precision Finding ranges for tracking items in the Find My app, and a louder speaker.
The new AirTag has the same overall design as the original one, and it continues to be powered by a CR2032 coin cell battery with "more than a year" of battery life.
The new AirTag requires an iPhone running iOS 26.2.1 or later, according to Apple.
With the watchOS 26.2.1 update, Precision Finding on the Apple Watch Series 9 and later and Apple Watch Ultra 2 and later works with the second-generation AirTag. We have confirmed that this feature does not work with the original AirTag.
