Apple's Vision Pro App Coming to iPad

Apple will bring the Vision Pro companion app to the iPad with the release of iPadOS 26.1, marking the first time ‌iPad‌ users can manage and explore spatial content for the headset directly from their devices.

Vision Pro iPhone App
Apple mentioned the expansion in the press release for the new Vision Pro with the M5 chip. The Vision Pro app was first introduced earlier this year with iOS 18.4, giving iPhone users the ability to browse and download apps, games, and media experiences for the Vision Pro without needing to wear the headset.

The app features a Discover page that highlights curated recommendations for "new and noteworthy experiences available on Apple Vision Pro," including categories such as Immersive Video, 3D movies, and other spatial apps. The My Vision Pro page within the app provides device-specific information and tools. The app also includes guest management features.

The Vision Pro app was automatically installed for iPhone users after updating to iOS 18.4 in April, and the iPadOS 26.1 release will extend the same integration to iPads. iPadOS 26.1 is likely to be released later this month or in early November.

Test Settings I did four separate tests using the iPhone 17 Pro Max, and I kept the parameters as similar as possible. Here are the...

Your discussion here brings up an important point and impediment for this type of device.

There is always going to be a certain large segment of people who either can't or won't use this type of device for comfort/pleasure reasons.

From this particular standpoint, AR glasses of some kind make a lot more sense if one is chasing mainstream adoption.
of course. but true AR glasses are still many years away. They should be pushing and actively developing for Vision Pro til they can get there. Happy to be a guinea pig for it cus I love the device as is. For now I've never been more excited to watch movies and play games on something every day even a year and a half after getting it

Based on flipping through that app I would have no clue how to use it to set up a guest. where is that? I see a page of ads and a page of basic settings and info about the device.

It appears only when you turn on guest mode, its neat and to your credit I wish they always had it on the screen instead of hiding it but it was super useful so I can watch them use the AVP and I can help them do things etc. Also the ability to restrict apps on the fly came in clutch lol.

lol well thank you! I def didn't realize that. I've somehow made it all this time without letting anyone use mine but there's a few people I think should. the one person I actively tried to get to use it complained they had vertigo and didn't want to try it.
I get motion sick very very easily, the AVP was the first headset I could use without wanting to puke my guts, and once I upgraded to a good headband (the globestar or whatever its called) I could wear it for 8+ hours without issue.
