Apple Releases iOS 18.6.2 With Security Fixes

Apple today released iOS 18.6.2 and iPadOS 18.6.2, more minor updates for the iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 operating systems. iOS 18.6.2 comes less than a week after the launch of iOS 18.6.1, an update that re-added blood oxygen monitoring support to the latest Apple Watch models.

Generic iOS 18
iOS 18.6.2 and iPadOS 18.6.2 can be downloaded on eligible devices over-the-air by going to Settings > General > Software Update. Apple has also released iPadOS 17.7.10 for iPads that aren't able to run iPadOS 18.

According to Apple's release notes, iOS 18.6.2 and iPadOS 18.6.2 provides important security fixes and the updates are recommended for all users.

We are less than a month away from the launch of iOS 26, the next-generation version of iOS that will replace iOS 18, so this will likely be one of the last updates to iOS 18 beyond security fixes.

Why Apple didn’t didn’t add those to iOS 18.6.1???
Apple clearly wanted to get blood oxygen monitoring back to people as soon as they physically and legally could then wanted to get these updates out asap too.

Bro I know that but they could have added the ios 18.6.2 fixes on ios 18.6.1
if you read that customs ruling (in the AW subform), Apple had that SpO2 fix ready to go for several months already, it was a question of timing of the ruling. And 18.6.2 was probably not ready yet when they released .1

What ever happened to those zero click exploits from earlier this year nicknamed AirBorne?
They were already fixed before the details of the vulnerability were published. The updates released on March 31st contained most of the fixes (e.g. iOS/iPadOS 18.4 ('https://support.apple.com/en-us/122371'), macOS 15.4 ('https://support.apple.com/en-us/122373')).
