That's actually tempting. But the M1 Air is still doing fine and not even working hard. 5% CPU right now. The M4 is such overkill. The battery is still at 89% capacity and this one was bought in January of 2021.

A USB port on the right side would be nice for cable management, but it's really a good design.
M1 Air is such an insanely good machine. I'm upgrading to M4 because I have lots of store credit that I don't want to devaluate. But every time I use the M1 I can't find another justification for moving... it doesn't even so much as hiccup with my typical use case.

Of the 10+ Apple laptops I've had over last 2 decades, it's by far and away the best.

This is the same deal that Best Buy has been offering for weeks. It’s true that it’s the “best ever” for Amazon I suppose, but you’ve been able to get these prices for a while.

I'm in the same boat... I don't know how to justify upgrading my base M1 MBA. Is the camera a bit dated? Sure. But dos it continue to just get stuff done for me? Sure does. In these uncertain times, I can't bring myself to upgrade.

Great deals and they are great MacBooks too. Just bought M4 15" Air last month. Got it in Sky Blue color and like it very much. Very happy with the purchase.

Are there any offers like this for a 1TB? Best Buy or Amazon? I never see a 1 TB option, only up to 512. I'd be tempted to swap up from my M1, but I have and need 16gb / 1 TB SSD.
The sales are almost always for the lowest cost configurations. If you’re willing to climb up Apples shockingly steep price ladders, you are likely less cost sensitive and they’re happy to let you climb.

It's crazy that $799 has so quickly become almost the default price among big-box retailers in the US. I wonder how much lower it will go once the M5 Air is announced.
