Still on the fence if the upgrade from buying an A16 is worth an extra $150.

Aiming to use it as a replacement for 2013 MacBook Air- browsing, emails, some gaming, and exercise videos. Any help?
The laminated display plus the M3 SoC are big improvements over the standard iPad model and worth the $150 IMO

I'd say the laminated display is worth an extra $150.

These iPads were just updated in March. How soon to you expect new iPads?
Exactly. iPad Air was the last to get a rev a few months ago. The other iPads merit a rev far more than the Air. If anything, Amazon has a huge stockpile thanks to the tariff scare so they need to get rid of them, first now during back-to-school, and next probably on Black Friday or Prime Week.

They are getting rid of the old supply for the new iPad’s coming
I doubt it. We won't see iPad Air models with (likely) the M4 SoC until spring 2026. I think there's just too much stock of the iPad Air M3 right now.

New iPad Pros are likely in the coming months this year, but I wouldn’t expect another new iPad Air until next year.
