German mobile carriers have apparently spilled the beans on Apple's iPhone 17 announcement date, and if history repeats itself, we now know when the devices will hit stores, too.

According to sources from German phone providers cited by iphone-ticker.de, Apple's iPhone 17 event is set for Tuesday, September 9. Following Apple's predictable pattern, this would put the actual launch date at Friday, September 19 – exactly ten days after the announcement.
Of course, here we are assuming the iPhone 17 release timeline will match previous years. Apple typically announces new iPhones on a Tuesday, opens pre-orders the following Friday, then ships devices to customers exactly one week later.
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman recently suggested Apple would announce the iPhone 17 during the week of September 8, specifically mentioning September 9 or 10 as likely dates. The German carrier's information seems to confirm Gurman's prediction.
If accurate, customers in major markets including the US, China, Europe, and Japan should expect their new iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, or iPhone 17 Pro Max to arrive on September 19. Apple will likely send press invitations around September 2 if this timeline holds true.
