macOS Tahoe Public Beta Available for Some Users [Update: Pulled]

Apple appears to have accidentally distributed the macOS Tahoe public beta to some Mac users ahead of the beta's official launch.

macOS Tahoe 26 Feature
A selection of public beta testers and developers who have opted into either the macOS Sequoia 15 developer beta or the macOS Sequoia 15 public beta are instead receiving the ‌macOS Tahoe‌ public beta. The beta that Apple is distributing has a build number of 25A5316i, which is newer than the 25A5306g build number of the third ‌macOS Tahoe‌ developer beta.

‌macOS Tahoe‌ is showing up for Apple silicon Mac users who do not have Rosetta 2 installed. Most Apple silicon Macs do have Rosetta installed, and those Macs won't detect the mistaken beta release.

In Apple's backend, the beta is labeled "macOS26PublicBeta1," though users will see just "‌macOS Tahoe‌ 26 Beta." At least one user downloaded and installed the software thinking that it was the macOS Sequoia 15.6 RC that came out earlier today.

Apple has not officially released the iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and ‌macOS Tahoe‌ public betas yet, but we are expecting them before the end of July. The accidental launch of the first public beta suggests the actual launch will happen in the near future.

Update: Apple pulled the ‌macOS Tahoe‌ public beta shortly after this article was published.

I hope they release a new beta soon... the most recent release has left my MBP almost useless. The fan never stops running. It couldn't be more different from the iOS26 betas, which have been quite polished. Tahoe is a mess at this point.
You downloaded a developer beta, in development, unfinished software and you're complaining that it's unreliable? That is literally the whole point of them, dude. Just because some betas are reliable, doesn't mean every beta will be the same.

Oh I know... and I've been trying their betas for over a decade now. This one has just felt more rough than usual, especially given how smooth the iOS has been.

Nonetheless I find his information quite useful. Sure not all MacBooks experience the same behavior but it’s good to know what issues and feelings are the developers experiencing.

Isn’t that the whole point of this threads? Why would be the point of a Public Beta or a Developer Beta Thread in MacRumors then?
The dude complaining isnt complaining about an issue with enough specificity to be useful, they're just mad that the beta isnt stable, which is... a bit missing the point. If the poster had been like "whenever I do x workflow the fans just stay on" (hopefully followed by "I've filed a bug report") that would be the kind of thing you're talking about, but that wasnt the post.
