iOS 19 Will Add a New Battery Life Feature to Your iPhone
iOS 19 will add a new AI-powered battery management mode to iPhones, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. He said the feature will analyze how a person uses their iPhone and make adjustments to extend battery life.

Despite being powered by AI, Gurman said the feature will be available on all iPhone models that run iOS 19, suggesting that it will not be tied to Apple Intelligence specifically. iOS 19 will support the iPhone 11 series and newer, according to an anonymous leaker who shared accurate iOS 18 compatibility information last year.
It is not entirely clear if this will be an enhancement to the existing Low Power Mode on iPhones, or an entirely new feature. It also remains to be seen if the mode can be manually toggled on or off in the Settings app, or if the optimizations will occur automatically in the background on supported iPhone (and likely iPad) models.
The new battery management mode will be particularly beneficial for the rumored ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air model, as the device will likely have a smaller battery compared to other iPhone 17 models. In addition, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to use Apple's power-efficient C1 modem for 5G, which will also help to boost battery life.
Apple will unveil iOS 19 during its WWDC 2025 keynote, which begins Monday, June 9 at 10 a.m. Pacific Time. The first iOS 19 beta should be seeded to registered Apple developers (anyone can sign up for free) shortly after the keynote, and the update is expected to be released to the general public at some point in September.
