Apple's Mac Site Features Fictional 'Lumon Terminal Pro'

Apple is going all out with promotions for the popular Severance Apple TV+ show today, and as of right now, you'll find a new "Lumon Terminal Pro" listed on Apple's Mac site.

Apple Lumon Terminal Pro
The Lumon Terminal Pro is designed to look similar to the machines that Severance employees like Mark S. and Helly R. use for macrodata refinement. The Terminal features a blue keyboard, a small display with wide bezels, and a trackball for navigation purposes.

Unfortunately, you can't actually buy a Lumon Terminal Pro, though it would undoubtedly sell well to Severance fans. Apple's page links to the company's actual Macs, and to a behind the scenes editing video that Apple shared this morning.

The second season of Severance wrapped up last Thursday, so the entire series is now available to stream on ‌Apple TV‌+. Apple renewed Severance for season three, and Severance director Ben Stiller has promised that it won't take another three years for us to get another season.

I guess when the Apple TV+ service is losing $1 billion per year ('https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/report-tv-losing-1-billion-annually-as-apple-services-falter.2453568/') * you need to resort to cheap gimmicks to promote the shows whenever and wherever you can.
* According to a dodgy, paywalled „report“ by an analytics company without any access to actual subscriber numbers and/or cost/benefit data which also, without any shame and/or logic, correctly states that Apple services, and especially Apple One, which TV+ is part of, do make huge profits each and every quarter.

The cliffhanger at the end of season 1 felt natural and kept me genuinely interested in the show and I was super excited for season 2. The season 2 finale felt forced and the whole season like a waste of time - keeping fans barely engaged and then hitting us with another, forced cliffhanger to coerce us into watching a third season. Sadly, I’m likely out on season 3 - release it or not, I’m indifferent. You lost me on this one, Apple.
Clearly you watched a different show than I did.
Aside from the finale being completely and totally bonkers, I walked away thinking of about 15 plot directions that could now be lined up, which I cannot share here for risk of spoiling it for someone.

Also, for those complaining that this is a waste of time, money and effort when Apple should be focusing on getting Apple Intelligence to work...you do realize that the company consists of more than one person, right?

You know if you change the title of that article to “ Apple is spending $1B a year on quality content,” it has a whole different meaning, but wouldn't get the clicks.

Apple really has to find a non-compromising way to sell, at minimum, some t-shirts or something for this show and others.
