Has Apple Accidentally Leaked a MacBook Pro With Face ID?
It's probably a simple mistake, but the Apple Store app might have accidentally leaked a future MacBook Pro with Face ID support.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman today shared a screenshot of the Apple Store app that shows a Face ID authentication symbol overlaid on a basic outline of a MacBook Pro with a notch. As noted by Gurman, it is unclear if the graphic's designer had any advance knowledge about a MacBook Pro with Face ID, and this could easily be an oversight.
In any case, the graphic can be found in the "Go Further" tab of the Apple Store app under a "We'll help get you started" header while it lasts.
A wider version of the graphic on Apple's website shows the Face ID icon separate from the Mac, increasing the chances of this simply being an error.
In the past, Gurman said that Apple had tested Face ID for the iMac, but the facial authentication system has yet to be added to any Mac. A marketing employee for Apple once said that Touch ID is more convenient since the button is near your hands, but that does not rule out the possibility of Apple adding Face ID to a Mac in the future.
Apple is expected to unveil new MacBook Pro models with M4 series chips in October, and there have been no concrete rumors about the laptops gaining Face ID.
