Gurman: No New Mac Studio and Mac Pro Until Mid-2025

Apple will not refresh the Mac Studio and Mac Pro with next-generation high-end chips until the middle of 2025, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

Mac Studio Desk
In the latest edition of his "Power On" newsletter, Gurman said that Apple's current schedule does not include the launch of new ‌Mac Studio‌ and Mac Pro models until the middle of next year. Apple last updated the ‌Mac Studio‌ and Mac Pro with M2-series chips at WWDC in 2023, meaning that they could go around 24 months without an update, even though the iPad Pro now contains the M4 chip.

All other Macs with the exception of the MacBook Air should be available with M4-series chips by the end of 2024, but Gurman does not anticipate any new models being unveiled at WWDC in June, making 2022 and 2023 exceptions for recent mid-year Mac releases.

I call BS on this. They’ve literally just released M4 - how are they going to explain updating their laptops but not the desktops? They sell more, yes, but is it any wonder if they go and do stupid moves like this?
What we really need is a 30-32 inch iMac 6K.

So the Mac Mini will get M4 Pro while the Studio is on M2 Max?

So basically, M3 Ultra will never exist.
This is why the M3 Max didn't have the connector.

I doubt they sell enough Mac Studios to make updating more frequently worthwhile. I suspect they've probably yet to reach triple figures with the Mac Pro.
