New 32-inch iMac Pro Expected in 2024 or 2025

Apple is still developing an iMac Pro with a 32-inch display with a launch planned for either late 2024 or 2025, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

In the latest edition of his "Power On" newsletter, Gurman reiterated rumors that a larger "pro" version of the iMac is still in development at Apple, noting that the company had ended up delaying the machine.

Apple had originally aimed to release a larger, pro-focused iMac soon after the 24-inch iMac launched, according to the Bloomberg reporter. Apple's original iMac road map is said to have been in the following order: M1 24-inch iMac, M2-based iMac Pro, and finally, a 24-inch iMac refresh.

However, Apple decided to postpone the "pro" machine due to cost concerns, hence why a 24-inch iMac is now expected to arrive next, potentially as soon as the end of October 2023.

Rumor consensus is that the iMac Pro display will be around 32 inches in size, which would make it Apple's largest display to date. Some rumors also claim the machine will use mini-LED technology like the Pro Display XDR.

Like the 24-inch ‌iMac‌, a future ‌iMac‌ Pro could be available in multiple color options. A 2021 report from DigiTimes suggested that Apple plans to sell the new ‌iMac‌ in various colors, though there are no specific details on which colors Apple will use and the rumor is now outdated.

Gurman‌ believes a larger, more powerful ‌iMac‌ could feature M3 Pro and M3 Max chips. The M3 chip is expected to bring significant performance and power efficiency improvements compared to the current 5nm-based ‌M2‌ chip, which debuted in June 2022.
