For me, mobile tech has really matured.

Increasing base prices on what is essentially 5 year old tech isn’t a deal. It’s robbery.
Some battery life. New cable. For $2000 you gonna have to literally revamp the whole thing. Take some risks.
As a person who used to upgrade annually and has had every iPhone from the 3GS -> 13 pro max (barring the iP11, and I used to by the plus and small versions) I feel like unless Apple do something crazy awesome the days of people upgrading even every three years, is numbered. It’s really stale and really expensive.
Base Prices have actually decreased compared to 5 years ago, almost everything has increased by 30-40% from 5 years ago due to inflation.
Apples prices have stayed the same, which means in real terms they're 30-40% cheaper, taking inflation into account.
That's just a fact!

Got my ultra for a pretty sweet deal. Traded in series 8 watch for $190 credit, Purchased a Macbook Pro, and got a $150 gift card with a student discount. Used my veterans discount to purchase the Ultra 2 which knocked off another $90. I had $117 cashback from using my Apple card to purchase said MacBook Pro and a MacBook Air. So I paid $253 for the watch before taxes.

Same, but got SS9, saved $75. Just got it delivered, waiting for 15 Pro that should follow it today also, because I don't feel like upgrading old phone to 17.

How did you get $80 off?
There is a promo code when paying with the Best Buy credit card. Saves you 10%.
You also get 5% cash back with the purchase so I bought the ultra 2. $80 off and $35 cash back.
Also got free applecare+ because I have BB total tech service.
