He is responsible for establishing sports deals with Major League Soccer and Major League Baseball, and he has been working on Apple TV+ content deals since 2017. Distad works under Oliver Schusser, who reports to Eddy Cue.

With Distad leaving the company, Apple will promote Jim DeLorenzo for sports content, and is looking for a replacement to take over the TV business side.

Distad was initially hired in 2013, and before joining Apple, he was Hulu's senior vice president of marketing and distribution. Distad is the third services executive to leave the company in recent months, with his departure following services business head Peter Stern and cloud services lead Michael Abbott.

He made what 1 deal, failed at all the big import ones like the NFL, and none of Apple shows are ever advertised or trending. And Apple actually has some really good content. So good, they need to shake things up

Probably fired for not securing the NFL deal

The NFL deal probably was a… deal breaker.

I'm here all day.. try the veal.
Considering DirecTV loses about $500 million per year ('https://www.forbes.com/sites/jonathanberr/2019/09/30/if-directv-drops-nfl-sunday-ticket-will-subscribers-scramble/?sh=743077dd52a9') on NFL Sunday ticket deal they pay $1.5 billion annually ('https://www.reuters.com/article/us-directv-nfl/directv-keeps-nfl-sunday-ticket-in-1-5-billion-a-year-deal-idUSKCN0HQ54U20141001') for, maybe Apple losing out on it to Alphabet/YouTube is for the best.

I wonder if Alphabet/YouTube will make anything on it at a little over $2 billion per year ('https://apnews.com/article/new-england-patriots-nfl-technology-sports-df32841fb6883feaa86d97f99e162d29').

I hope this change effects advertising more than content. Apple TV has become my favorite spot for new shows but they desperately need to get more buzz going.

He was at Apple for 10 years, which seems to have become the modern definition of a "long-time" employee.
