Apple has mastered the art of giving with one hand and taking with the other. Whatever happened to the days of Apple actually treating their customers to a lil somethin' now and again? Anyone else miss the 12 Days of Christmas?
IMHO, Buying stuff from Apple Store / Website is worth the money just after they announce new stuff, otherwise Amazon / Resellers are way cheaper.
In Germany the perk is that if you buy it directly with Apple, they are also the seller and therefore have to fix things for 24 months instead of the usual 12 months. If you did not buy it with Apple directly, they would just send you away to talk to whatever department store you bought it from and those are usually much more picky with handling replacements than apple.
