Apple Seeds Fourth Beta of tvOS 16 to Developers

Apple today seeded the fourth beta of an upcoming tvOS 16 update to developers for testing purposes, with the beta coming three weeks after Apple seeded the third beta of tvOS 16 to developers.

Developers can download the new tvOS 16 beta by downloading a profile onto the Apple TV using Xcode.

tvOS 16 enables cross-device connectivity, a feature that allows developers to integrate ‌Apple TV‌ apps with iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch apps to unlock new experiences on the TV. Apple has also improved how multiple user profiles work in tvOS 16 by adding a shared keychain, so users won't need to sign in and choose their profile when launching an ‌Apple TV‌ app.

Game controller support has been expanded to the Nintendo Joy-Cons and Pro Controller, and HDR10+ support is available in the tvOS 16 ‌Apple TV‌ app. With tvOS 16, the ‌Apple TV‌ will support Matter, an upcoming standard that will improve interoperability between smart home accessories from different companies.

Apple has also released a new HomePod software 16 beta alongside tvOS 16 beta 4.

Fix the library tab in the Apple TV app or still a dumpster fire of neglect for Apple’s best customers?
Siri won’t even play stuff from my library, always directs me to a streaming service I don’t have, to watch content that I bought from Apple.

If they seriously want more services revenue stop pushing me to competing services when I’m already a customer and willing to buy more.

Actually I just answered my own question. Why buy my favorite shows to watch over and over when I can rent them forever and Apple takes a cut for signing me up?

Another site says this beta adds support for HDR10+. Can anyone confirm that?
I'll let you know when the install finishes, my TV also supports HDR10+ so I'll be able to tell.

Here is what the other site said was new in B4:

Today’s build is 20J5344f. Different from the other betas, developers need to download the tvOS 16 testing version through Xcode. Although HomePod Software 16 is available for a few developers, it’s not clear what the company is holding for its smart speaker lineup.

That said, here’s what’s new with tvOS 16 beta 4 as of now:

* Nintendo Switch controllers compatibility: tvOS 16 will finally support Nintendo Switch’s Joy-Cons and Pro Controller. We feature this story here at 9to5Mac ('https://9to5mac.com/2022/06/06/ios-16-game-controllers-nintendos-joy-cons/'). Apple says “many additional Bluetooth and USB game controllers are supported by the Game Controller” starting with tvOS 16;
* HDR10+ support: The latest generation of high dynamic range technology will be supported in the Apple TV app on tvOS 16;
* Video-forward featuring on the Apple TV+ tab: Rich video previews at the top of the Apple TV+ tab help users discover their next favorite Apple Original;
* Apple Fitness+: With tvOS 16, at key moments in the workout, Intensity Metrics are called out and will appear on the screen for motivation. The intensities are Easy, Moderate, Hard, and All Out.
