Unfortunately there will never be a fix for the Homepod bug that prevents it from being used with an aux input, or with bluetooth, or anything other than and iCloud account.
Did you just realize this now, or do you like to complain about the obvious?

Next you'll tell us Apple Watch doesn't work with Android, and iPhone doesn't run Windows software.

I still have the problem of my HomePod playing some random playlist by itself, all at random times during the day and night.

Does it really matter if your "smart" connected speaker stops playing music?

It's not like its entire purpose is to play music

...wait a minute..

Looks like it's only for the minis for right now. Really hope they don't just leave the OG hanging like that...
It’s for the OG Hompod as well. Mine is downloading as we speak :)

I mean, I guess we could say it could be either, so thats not terribly helpful. It could be a loose connection, it could be a failing component, it could be a wonky software issue. Of course, hardware issues make it a dead end, which will be sad. Are you able to elaborate on why you think it’s probably a hardware issue? I’m curious, haven’t been able to find an answer elsewhere. Or was this more of a hit-and-run rain on my parade lol
Good news! I’ve listened to a few songs after the update, and it’s not having the issue anymore! Knocking on wood it doesn’t come back of course, but before the update, the no-bass problem would occur frequently within the course of a single 3-minute song. Thank goodness for this software solution! I love my HomePod!
