Apple Now Selling Two New HidrateSpark Smart Water Bottles With Apple Health Integration

Two new smart water bottles from HidrateSpark are now being sold in Apple's online and retail stores, allowing users to automatically track their water intake and sync it to Apple Health.

The $80 HidrateSpark PRO STEEL, available in silver or black, is a vacuum-insulated 32-ounce water bottle with both chug and straw lids and an LED puck at the base that lights up in customizable colors and patterns to remind you to drink water throughout the day. The puck also senses your water consumption, transmitting the data via Bluetooth to your phone and on to Apple Health.

The vacuum-insulated bottle can keep liquids cold for up to 24 hours, and the bottle and lid are BPA free and dishwasher-safe while the rechargeable LED puck should be cleaned with a damp cloth.

For a cheaper and lighter option, the 24-ounce HidrateSpark PRO Smart Water Bottle priced at $60 is available in green or black and is made of shatter- and odor-resistant Tritan plastic rather than vacuum-insulated steel. It includes the same LED sensor puck as on the more expensive model and similarly comes with both chug and straw lids and is BPA-free.

The two new bottles join two other HidrateSpark models that were already available through Apple, the 21-ounce HidrateSpark STEEL priced at $70 and the 20-ounce Hidrate Spark 3 priced at $60.

I actually have one of these bottles. I like it. I'm terrible at drinking water. I'm never consistent. My doctor mentioned that I should drink more water due to a medical condition. I bought one of those huge gallon bottles and tried to use that but the problem was I just wouldn't pick the thing up. This reminding me daily has got me into the habit of being more consistent throughout the day.

After having the bottle I discovered exactly how much I should be drinking, and I was nowhere near where I needed to be. I'd be willing to bet many of the folks on here making jokes don't either. I should note it updates based on the weather conditions as well.

Also, I'm using this instead of plastic bottles which I'm happy I'm not using anymore. It's really helped me to make it much more of a habit.

Reading the comments here it's making me feel like I'm crazy, but to each his own I guess.

While the majority here are frowning upon this, someone with serious health issues or that makes poor life choices, even maybe someone older, this could be a step in the right direction to creating healthy habits OR being reminded to stay on track.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s expensive for a water bottle though.

OMG! This generation is becoming so clueless, lazy and too dependant that you need someone to tell you how much water you drank or you simply don't know how to count? Stupid would spend over $80 on this overpriced gimmick. Yet this generation throws more plastic water bottles to waste than the past generations. Maybe you need a reminder that you need to go to bathroom than cross your legs in front of computer and work excessively.
What logic are you using to disparage an entire generation as clueless and lazy simply because an expensive water bottle exists?

Also, my parents' generation was populated with people that refused to use the same drinking fountain as someone from another race, so I'm glad to accept the baggage of 'smart water bottles'.
