I still have no idea why anyone would ever get the 13" MBP M1 over the 13" MBA M1...it's a significant price premium for almost no difference in real-world functionality at all. Still loving my MBA M1 that I picked up at Best Buy for around $670 open box last year :)

How did you pay 1600 when it retails for 1499? From a third party or something while they were out of stock? It's a great device, but paying more than Apple charges is a bad idea.

Damn good computer for that price… still prefer the non Touch Bar MB Air at an even cheaper price.
So true. The best deal around is a refurbed M1 Air for $849.

Well, I had a $100 Amazon gift card laying around doing nothing, so I pulled the trigger on this deal. A 13-inch M1 MBP for $999. I'll enjoy the longer battery life compared with the MBA and also the enhanced cooling system that will allow me to run the chip harder for longer - if necessary.

Would I like a 14-inch MBP? Sure. But it starts at two grand. I'll do just fine with this set up for a couple of years - until the fire sales on this new generation of machines. The thousand-dollar difference might allow me to go for an iPhone 13 Pro or maybe even a new iMac with trade-in.

There is little to no reason to get a 13" Pro over an Air. Extremely similar performance, heavier, thicker, gimmicky Touch Bar. There's no one I'd recommend it to.
