Apple Shares Trailer for Upcoming Ewan McGregor Series 'Long Way Up'

Apple today shared the first trailer for "Long Way Up," an upcoming motorcycle series produced by and starring Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman.

The series follows McGregor and Boorman as they ride through Latin American countries that include Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, and Mexico. The duo will cover 13,000 miles over the course of 100 days, exploring the "glorious and underexposed" landscapes of South and Central America.

Covering 13,000 miles over 100 days through 16 border crossings and 13 countries, starting from the city of Ushuaia at the tip of South America, Ewan and Charley journey through the glorious and underexposed landscapes of South and Central America in their most challenging expedition to date, using cutting-edge technology on the backs of their prototype electric Harley-Davidsons in order to contribute to the sustainability of the planet.

The new series will follow Ewan and Charley as they journey through Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador and up through Colombia, Central America and Mexico. Also joining them are their longtime collaborators, directors David Alexanian and Russ Malkin, following them in their electric Rivians.

"Long Way Up" is a sequel to McGregor and Boorman's prior motorcycle shows, "Long Way Round" and "Long Way Down," which aired on British networks Sky One and BBC Two respectively in the mid 2000s.

The first three episodes of "Long Way Up" are set to premiere on Friday, September 18, with new episodes coming out each week after that.

Agree this is the first thing on Apple TV that I actully want to watch having enjoyed the previous editions. Also have an interest in electic vehicles so will be intresting to see how the Harley-Davidson Livewire motorbike and Rivian trucks cope with the sometimes not so hospital roads and climate.

I rode a motorcycle through Vietnam, a thousand miles from south to north....what an incredible experience. In my opinion, it's the best way to connect with the locals, and to see the sights most tourists don't see. I was in remote areas where, based on the reactions of the locals, I don't think they've seen a western person before.

I've had my sights on South America for a while, this series looks great and I look forward to seeing it.

Also, might be worth noting before Vietnam I'd never been on a motorcycle before, and Vietnam is the statistically the most dangerous country to ride a motorcycle. I got a 10 minute crash course lesson how to ride/operate a motorcycle, then plunged myself into Saigon...an absolute melee.

Apple are doing really well on quality content. Sure, not everything is for everyone, but they buy or make high quality filming, high quality actors. They don’t have the quantity of Netflix, but it’s all good quality, unlike a lot of the Netflix garbage. Friday’s going to be a good day (this and Ted Lasso)
