I didn't see season one, but Space Force really set the bar on what I want from a series about space.
Space Force is to For all Mankind as Orville is to Star Trek.

We don't get a lot of alternate history shows on TV, so this one is a bit unique on that alone. And, the historical aspects were actually really, really solid...everything that happened was plausible based on the world back then. How they connected to the larger world around the space race was also well done. The acting was largely pretty good, and a few people were really awesome. If anything, how Deke Slayton was handled, from the actor to his story, was spot on perfect (and no one should spoil this plot thread here). If you like sci-fi or space stuff, you really should watch the entire series before declaring it worthless.

Space Force was unwatchable. I barely got through ep 2 before finally throwing a hammer at my TV.

One of the things that I like about "For All Mankind" are the subtle details that become hugely relevant later on, like Ted Kennedy not going to Chappaquiddick. There are many things that only stand out either if you were paying close attention or upon a rewatch.

I couldn't get through the first couple of episodes of season 1. I heard it gets better later in the series, but it just couldn't hold my interest long enough.

So far I've found Apple TV+'s repertoire of content pretty underwhelming in general. The only reason I still have a subscription is because I got one free with a hardware purchase.
Defending Jacob is top level quality, I loved it. Dickinson is also not bad.
