All eligible Apple Authorized Service Providers will receive a subsidy from Apple by way of increased payouts for each completed repair. The subsidy is retroactive and the length it is offered will depend on stay-at-home guidelines in each country. Service providers are encouraged to contact their Apple representatives for more details.

They are only doing this because they need them. They couldn't care less about the people that work at those centers.
It's just Cook being the greedy person he is, as always.

😁
That makes absolutely no sense

Odd that they feel they need to incentivize a repair. Maybe 3rd party repair shops are bailing on Apple
or, maybe not. BTW, if you read the article, they are not "incentivizing" a repair, they are assisting their community in dealing with COVID. Much like they donated masks, and assembled face shields, and donated money, and ...... How is any of that a bad thing?

"they need them," but "couldn't care less" about them?

"Maybe" aliens are spreading COVID-19, and "maybe" drinking bleach really is a great way to treat an infection. Speculation is a wonderful thing. Facts are even better.

Wow, that's really nice. Considering in some countries there are only authorized third party service centers and no official Apple stores, this is definitely a nice gesture.
