Apple Support App Now Lets You Chat With an Expert in Messages

Apple today updated its Apple Support app to version 3.1, adding a new feature that's designed to let you chat with an expert to get support help using the Messages app.

Apple says that this feature is limited to the United States and is available for select topics only.

Today's update also introduces an improved experience for scheduling reservations at the Genius Bar and Authorized Service Providers, and it includes other unspecified bug fixes and performance improvements.

The phone company is answering Apple-specific questions? I ask because T-Mobile here in the US has a chat feature too but it's only limited to TM services. I usually use it when traveling to confirm my plan covers free data use and texting while abroad.
No it’s via iMessage. I thought Apple would be the first to do this type of business support.

That’s weird. The phone company I work for in Australia has this feature for customers.
