Well, the sale is all it took. My wife and I each have an Apple Watch 4 now. She went with the 44mm gold aluminum model and I went with the 44mm stainless space black. I guess I should start looking at bands too.
Well they finally got me. My Apple Watch series 0 is still hanging in there, but slow and hard to use. I have been refusing to upgrade on principle because I want realistic looking watch faces. But my bands are wearing out so I need a new one, and that, combined with $50, well I couldn't resist. Had a stainless steel and bought the space grey aluminium. I like it so far. The extremely light weight combined with the nylon band really makes it feel like you dont even have anything on. I just hope the screen holds up.
I ended up buying an older Garmin Forerunner 235 instead of the Apple Watch. I just want something to keep track of my fitness and tell me how fat I am without being locked into the iPhone ecosystem and having to charge daily.
I had a series 4 and exchanged it for a Garmin Fenix 5. Battery life is way better and I had two weird shut downs during long runs which made me go for the more reliable sports version. It has many functions the Garmin does not have but if sports is your focus Garmins are second to none.
