Apple Shares Eight New 'Shot on iPhone' Videos

by

Apple today uploaded eight new "Shot on iPhone" videos to its YouTube channel, showcasing the video capturing capabilities of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus through videos taken by actual iPhone users around the world.

Each video clip lasts for 16 seconds and is accompanied by music. Video content ranges from a rain storm in Los Angeles to penguins in Antarctica to a hippopotamus in Botswana.

Several of the videos showcase iPhone 6s video features like Slo-Mo, while others are played in reverse or are sped up.

Apple's "Shot on iPhone" campaign began in early 2015 following the launch of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus, sharing photos of iPhone 6 images in ads and on billboards across the globe. Later in 2015, Shot on iPhone expanded to encompass video imagery collected in a World Gallery. Apple re-launched the "Shot on iPhone" campaign in early 2016 to focus on the camera improvements in the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus.

This isn't about a new product, it's about what the iPhone can do in terms of photography and video. There have been some really great images and videos taken on the iPhone over the years, it is still the most popular smartphone camera.

Ya know, I use my iPhone to take pix and vids all the time and the hype of this thing taking amazing pictures and videos is all hype. I never get super crisp vivid color photos. Hell, half the time the phone won't even focus right, and if the lighting isn't a super bright sunny day, forget about even trying to take a picture, and if you do, make sure you have Photoshop ready to make the pictures look as crisp and vivid in color as the ones Apple shows off. Give me a break!
Ok this definitely makes me believe that you need to actually improve upon your photography skills rather than blaming the device.

That's exactly right ... except it's tired. It was a tired campaign when they launched it on the 6s, when the camera really had been given a major upgrade. And while it might just be a coincidence, the 6s sales also tanked for the first time. It's like crying wolf ... and now they're about to do it for a third time when the 7 comes out. I'm thinking ... yeah I know the camera is awesome -- what else you got?
So the sales are indicative of quality now?

Then the iPhone is the best phone in the world. As it is the best sold.

"Buying a Nikon camera doesn't make you a photographer. Makes you a Nikon owner"

The same applies to the iPhone or whatever that takes pictures.
