A pair of games with support for iOS 7's newly added game controller support have been released on the App Store.

Though the game controllers haven't actually been released yet -- there are at least two companies who have announced or hinted at upcoming controller releases -- both Walking Dead and Bastion were updated today with game controller support, according to our sister-site TouchArcade.

We've been really into everything to do with iOS 7 game controllers, as the idea is really exciting to us- Especially now that we're seeing big name games getting controller support. It seems really odd to me that both Telltale and Warner Bros. just said to their respective dev teams, "Hey guys, what are you doing today? Nothing? Let's add controller support." Instead, this smells of what might be the start of a much bigger push from Apple to get the "AAA" of the App Store ready for controllers... Whenever it is that they launch.

Last week, Apple began approving games that include game controller support and we should see more and more titles including it going forward.

Walking Dead is a free download for the iPhone and iPad. [Direct Link]

Bastion is $4.99 for the iPhone and iPad. [Direct Link]

I hope that these MFi controllers will work with Macs as well (through bluetooth, I guess?).

I've thought about getting an 8-Bitty controller for old NES/SNES type emulator games on my MacBook, but I'd rather have one that's compatible with a lot more iOS stuffs as well.

I can't find the quote, but I believe mavericks has ios controller support built in. Someone will correct me if I am wrong.

Very excited about this! Love games on iOS, and many of them would be so much improved with support for a game controller. Two planned in my future, one for my iPhone and one for my iPad mini. :-)

I think along with new iPads next month Apple will make a big introduction of AppleTV and iOS game controllers. One to make good on their "entering new markets in the Fall" commentary several months ago, and two to take the wind out of the mass-market sails for Microsoft (XB1) and Sony (PS4). Yes I know the AppleTV will not compete (yet) on raw graphics and AAA titles as those guys. But for the vast vast majority of consumers "good enough" is all they need plus the purchasing convenience plus the games/controllers will be a fraction of the soon-to-be niche major systems. Face it hardcore gamers, your hobby depends on sucking alot of casual gamers into subsidizing your systems.
