Video Walkthrough of AirPlay and Other Features in OS X Mountain Lion

Earlier today, Apple announced the developer preview for OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. OS X 10.8 offers a number of new features we've detailed before.

InsanelyGreatMac has put together this nice walkthrough video of OS X AirPlay mirroring. That feature allows you to transmit your OS X desktop onto your Apple TV over Wi-Fi:

Apple just sold a **** ton more AppleTV's with AirPlay for the desktop.

Desktop Airplay mirroring = hulu (and avi, mkv, etc) on apple TV without having to jailbreak and install XBMC and the hulu add-on!

One of the main reasons I bought the Apple TV 2: AIRPLAY

To soon be able to stream/AirPlay one's computer desktop to one's TV is going to be a sweet interaction indeed! This will get around some of the video incompatibilities encountered with the iDevices, such as the iPad.

(My wife likes to watch missed TV show posted on a TV's website, but some networks still post video in the 'archaic' Flash format!).

And no need to convert non-iTunes compatible video formats such as DivX and MKV into the AppleTV readable version - simply mirror directly from the computer.

Great stuff.
