ipad 2 hand
DigiTimes briefly reports that Foxconn is apparently set to produce 20 million iPad 2 units during the current quarter, a significant boost over the prior quarter and even over earlier estimates for this quarter.

For the third quarter, Foxconn is expected to ship 20 million units of iPad 2 to Apple, a growth of 60% sequentially, and the orders should be the major growth driver for the company in the second half.

Two months ago, the publication claimed that Apple was targeting shipments of 12-14 million units for the quarter. A revision of that figure up to 20 million units would be a substantial jump, potentially calling the accuracy of the report into question.

Apple last month announced that it sold 9.25 million iPads during the second quarter as it essentially sold every iPad it could make.

Traditionally, Apple has lower prices on older products when newer ones are introduced. This could be to meet expected demand for lower priced iPad 2's once the 3 is out.

20 million iPads a quarter and I can only sell 3 copies of my game a day? What a cheap bunch of iPad owners and/or one crappy App Store!

Honestly the App Store is so huge and the software to browse it is so bad that I've just about given up looking for any new apps. It is just too much to sort through. Sorting through it on the iPad is a waste of time because it is so slow. I rely mostly on blogs or word of mouth from friends.

The magazine racks are full of rags that promote the same old stuff that is already listed in the top 10 lists every day. The rich get richer.

So would this be evidence that the iPad 3 is further off than some rumors had been speculating?
