Tim Cook's Auburn University Commencement Speech

by

Tim Cook, Apple's new CEO following the resignation of Steve Jobs, graduated from Auburn University in 1982 with a degree in Industrial Engineering. Cook is a huge Auburn fan and has lots of memorabilia in both his home and office.

My most significant discovery so far in my life was the result of one single decision, my decision to join Apple. Working at Apple was never in any plan that I'd outlined for myself, but was without a doubt the best decision that I ever made.

He gave this commencement address to Auburn's graduating class in 2010.

If the app in your signature is in anyway indicative of your taste, you are not even close to getting a job at Apple.

I am happy for Tim, sorry to see Steve go. In the words of the great Joh Forney, Voice of the Crimson Tide, " I guess we are going to have to learn to live with Auburn grads!"
RTR and good luck to Tim!

Tim Cook is a dragon. Don't underestimate him.

This.

Tim Cook has really risen in prominence during the last few years - making a much more forceful impression than Phil Schiller in the keynotes.

Phil Schiller is a nice guy, and would never have made a good Apple CEO.

Tim Cook has a tough edge - that much is very clear from the way he speaks. I think he'll make a great replacement. Apple works best with dictatorial leadership - and I think Tim Cook can pull that off.
