PowerMac Dual 1.8GHz G5's?
MacBidouille posts a rumor update indicating that due to an extraordinarily high volume of PowerMac Dual 2.0 GHz G5 orders, Apple is considering introducing another model -- to shift some demand towards the 1.8GHz Processors.
According to the French site, a decision on whether or not to introduce a Dual 1.8GHz machine will be made next week. This new model will reportedly be priced at $2549.
They note that -- if this were to occur -- current customers with PowerMac G5 preorders will be contacted and given the option to change their orders. MacBidouille estimates first deliveries of the Dual 2GHz in mid August.
MacBidouille has had a variable accuracy record, and thus, we would not recommend making any drastic purchasing decisions based on this rumor alone -- especially since it seems that those who are potentially affected, will be contacted.
