Went to order some flowers for my mom since I live in a different state and there’s a decent discount. Found a pretty bouquet with a cute vase for $55. Add the promo code, it works, takes $20 off, awesome. Then they add $5-6 in fees and a $19 shipping charge. Closed the tab.

I’ll send my sister $100 for her trouble to buy my mom some flowers from me before I get bait-and-switched by a “promo” that dishonest and underhanded.

As a florist, I can say you are going to get ripped off by this company, Teleflora, Ava's Flowers, FTD, etc. They all contract through local florists and take a HUGE chunk of what would go toward the arrangement. Buy a $100 arrangement from them and you're going to get a $35-40 arrangement, roughly. They will substitute all the expensive flowers with cheap ones or not at all--or just cancel the order outright saying that they can't do it (usually at the last minute or the day of the delivery).

Use a local florist, or if you're sending somewhere else, they can wire-out to another florist and you'll still get most of your money's worth. That ApplePay discount is only going to get you less in the arrangement and a lot of heartache. Also, when searching for a florist online, see if they have a physical address: if they don't list it, they are just an order-gatherer and taking a cut of what you're spending.
