Apple Begins Selling Refurbished Mac Studio With M4 Max and M3 Ultra Chips at a Discount

Apple today added Mac Studio models with M4 Max and M3 Ultra chips to its online certified refurbished store in the United States, Canada, Japan, Singapore, and many European countries, for the first time since they were released in March.

Mac Studio Feature
As usual for refurbished Macs, prices are discounted by approximately 15% compared to the equivalent new models on Apple's online store. Note that Apple's refurbished inventory fluctuates often, so check back often for certain configurations.

In the U.S., refurbished M4 Max configurations starts at $1,699, down from $1,999. The refurbished M3 Ultra configurations start at $3,399, down from $3,999.

Apple has yet to make refurbished MacBook Air models with the M4 chip available anywhere.

The refurbished Mac Studio models ship in a plainer box. Beyond that difference, we consider Apple's refurbished Macs to be virtually indistinguishable from brand new ones, providing a good opportunity for savings directly from Apple. However, you can often find better deals on Macs through resellers like Amazon.

Apple says it puts refurbished Macs through "full functionality testing" and a "thorough cleaning process and inspection," and they are covered by Apple's one-year limited warranty and eligible for extended AppleCare+ coverage.

Not sure I'd want any of these. I have a friend who is on his 3rd iPad replacement in the last 4 weeks and every replacement they send him is dysfunctional.
All my Apple refurbished device purchases have been amazing.

So...these are the units returned by YouTubers who produced a few quick benchmarking videos, then had no other need for them and returned them for full credit?

I mean...I can't think of any other reason to return a Mac Studio...unless you mistakenly bought the wrong configuration.

Most likely because people are peeved with having to remove the device from it's storage position to simply switch it off-and-on-again!
What are you on about, the studio has the power button in the same spot (the back)

Definitely go with Amazon to get better prices on Apple products! That's even true here in the EU.
It's true that Amazon has better pricing but they only offer base. They don't offer other specs unless via specialist third parties who usually don't generally discount and often just order through Apple so there's still a wait time.

I wish Apple would increase the range of specs options available to purchase across all retailers or allow at least some retailers to request alternative specs instead of the standard ones. Apple used to have some additional configurations available in their stores to take away immediately (such as larger SSDs and additional RAM) but they don't seem to do that anymore (at least not in the UK).
