Plenty don't use USB-C connectors, and not everyone feels like running out to buy more adapters to hang off the cables either.

millions of printers, mice, keyboards, etc. I'm glad I bought an M2 Mac mini and not the M4 for this reason

Had one of those - extremely unreliable and kept dropping USB connections due to low energy passthrough. Ended up getting a CalDigit hub; way more stable.
