One of the most notable deals of the week was on the 256GB 13-inch M2 MacBook Air, available for just $749.00, down from $999.00, and this sale has since expanded to include more colors. Overall, this is a solid second-best price on the previous generation MacBook Air, and the 512GB model is seeing a similarly steep discount on Amazon.

For gaming, the M2 isn't that much worse than the M3. The M3 has ~30% stronger CPU performance, but its GPU performance is only ~5% better. And the M2 actually has a more powerful neural engine than the M3. (M2 has 22 TOPS, M3 has 18 TOPS, and M4 has 38 TOPS.) But the M3 also has hardware-accelerated Ray Tracing and hardware-accelerated AV1 video decoding. (Though, M2 can still play AV1 with software decoding, and Ray Tracing probably not so important on a the low-end MacBooks since Ray Tracing is pretty demanding.)
