Larger iMac With Around 32-Inch Display in Early Testing

Apple is experimenting with larger iMacs, including a model with around a 32-inch display, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. However, he said these iMacs are still in early development.

iMac Pro 2022 27 and 24 iMac
Apple discontinued the 27-inch iMac and iMac Pro, and has yet to launch a larger-screen iMac with an Apple silicon chip as a replacement, so a 32-inch iMac would be a much-awaited addition to the Mac lineup if it ever launches.

Feedback/info on the PB of 17?
Not good. I had a massive memory issue on my 12 pro where I got an iPhone full alert despite having 40% of my storage available. Had to emergency delete a bunch of apps just to get my phone in a workable condition and even then my safari favorites and wallpaper got wiped.

Otherwise, glitches abound. Battery life is dismal, the text bar in messages disappears regularly, and there are no quality of life improvements to be seen. Any changes I’ve seen are purely visual and don’t actual speed up or improve usage. Siri is still hopelessly crippled in its capabilities.

One noticeable and welcome improvement is autocorrect. It’s extremely well done.

Only place to go is up which they will need to do quickly to get ready by September.

Always interested to see how the first publc beta reception fares against what was introduced at Junes WWDC each year. It indicates how much is needed to be accomplished by Sept from all the PB participants opinions/reports. :)

If they did Thunderbolt, that would make the jump to USB-C worth it

It would be cool but in all honesty I can’t imagine it would be utilized very much at all. It’s an extremely small percentage that plug their phone in for anything but charging and even smaller portion that do enough data transfer to make the data rates of tbubderbolt worth it

For me, 2024 will be a year for opening the wallet. I go for:
- 16" MacBook Pro M3 Max (quite loaded)
- iPhone 15 Pro Max 512GB
- A Monitor
- A good fast big external storage solution.

Also hoping and wish that game developers use the game porting toolkit

iOS 17 seems to need a clean slate for some people, for me it was totally unusable until I did a clean install and did not install a backup. Once I did it’s been smooth sailing, fixed about 95% of the bugs, yes it was a pain to start from scratch, and it took me awhile to redo all my settings, but it was worth it. I freed up almost 100gb of space, dumped a ton of old apps, and I can only imagine how much old junk was in my backup dating back maybe my iPhone 4??

So to say that is “unusable or full of glitches” isn’t entirely accurate. It’s been much more stable than iOS 16 for me ever since I started clean. I suspect many of the bigger issues are due to hardware since Apple keeps using too little ram and had that problem with the gpu and had to use the old one. I believe if Apple doubled the ram it would solve a lot of problems but I suspect they’ll continue to hold the iPhone back forever. Phones costing half as much have double the ram of the iPhone 14 pros!
