Deals: Apple's M1 MacBook Air Drops to Best-Ever Price of $799.99

Apple's 2020 M1 MacBook Air (256GB) has dropped to $799.99 on Amazon today, down from $999.00, which is a record low price. This sale is available in all three colors of the M1 MacBook Air: Gold, Silver, and Space Gray.

Gold and Space Gray are in stock and ready to ship, with estimated delivery dates between November 16 and 21. Silver is seeing slight delays into late November, with estimated delivery dates between November 23 and 28.

Apple updated the MacBook Air this year with the M2 chip, but kept the M1 notebooks in its lineup as entry-level models. Although they are previous-generation devices with older hardware, the M1 MacBook Air should be perfect for anyone who needs a computer for everyday tasks like internet browsing and checking email, especially at this all-time low price.

If it didn't have less RAM than my frickin iPad I might consider it as a travel computer.
8GB is honestly fine for 99% of tasks I've thrown at it. I've had Chrome, Slack, Final Cut, Whatsapp, etc all open concurrently and still has room to breathe.

The M1 and current OS versions are masterful at RAM management.

Is this all time low? I thought people were getting this for $750 at some retail outlets last year.

I smell affiliate revenue ;)

Agree 8GB is fine for most computer users. Even those who claim it is not generally go by Apple's memory pressure indicator which, frankly, seems designed to upsell RAM. I've seen this go yellow and red without any noticeable performance lag with Office, web, large photo libraries, massive email libraries, browsing with tons of tabs etc.

If you're into serious Photoshop, 8K video editing, coding, 100+ Logic Pro tracks etc. then you need more RAM - but you know that already.

Put it this way. I have both 16GB and 8GB Apple Silicon Macs. They perform about the same for nearly everything that I do with a computer. The only thing I don't do on the 8GB machine is use Windows 11 VMs. It might be fine, but I haven't tried because, well, I have a 16GB machine for that.

Best ever 'new' price, perhaps. I picked up an excellent condition open-box M1 MBA from Best Buy almost 2 years ago for...$670. Hard to believe anyone would be paying anywhere near $999 today.
