Trackpad will probably be on the left or else with my mouse on the right, but further to the right.

Being left handed, that's how I use my trackpad too. on the left of they keyboard. Mouse I always use right handed

The trackpad can be worth buying if you usually connect your MBP to an external display and don’t like using something like the Magic Mouse.

I don’t connect my MBA to an external display since I already got a Mac mini that does that. So for me I’m not buying the magic trackpad since I’m using the built-in trackpad on my Macbook with no issues.
Thank you! Good to know. You just saved me spending some money on this trackpad. The discount itself isn’t too bad. I normally use a built-in trackpad along with Magic Mouse if I need to navigate throughout the screen more.

Does anyone use the trackpad with their MacBook Pro 14” or 16”? Would you get it?

Or is it strictly to be used for iMacs and Mac Studio?
It absolutely can be used with MBP as well. Whether or not it makes sense depends on the ergonomics of your setup.

I used a 2019 MBP for a long while the was perpetually in a fixed position on my desk, elevated by a TwelveSouth stand ('https://www.twelvesouth.com/products/curve-for-macbook'). I used an external Apple keyboard and an external wired mouse as well as trackpad with this setup. Folks that use their MacBooks in clamshell may be inclined to do similar -- impossible to use the trackpad or keyboard on a MacBook that has a closed lid. ;-)
