Apple Offers Deeper Look into Stephen King's 'Lisey's Story' Coming to Apple TV+ June 4

Apple has shared a video offering a deeper look into the making of upcoming Apple TV+ thriller "Lisey's Story," based on the novel by Stephen King.

All eight episodes of "Lisey's Story" were personally written by King, who was also executive producer on the show, and in the short video the horror legend describes his process of adapting it for the screen.

Lisey's a different thing for me. It's very close to my heart. I had pneumonia around the year 2000 and came really close to stepping out. When I came home from the hospital my wife had cleaned out my study, and I thought to myself, I've died, I'm a ghost. And the idea for "Lisey's Story" came from that.

Viewers also hear from director Pablo Larraín, producer J.J. Abrams, and the show's cast as they discuss their experience working with King to turn the story into an ‌Apple TV‌+ original.

The series follows Lisey Landon (played by Julianne Moore) two years after the death of her husband, famous novelist Scott Landon (played by Clive Owen). A series of unsettling events causes Lisey to face memories of her marriage to Scott that she has deliberately blocked out of her mind, according to Apple.

The series premieres on ‌Apple TV‌+ on Friday, June 4.

At least Oprah is a decent human being. Stephen King is a real schmuck.
King is literally one of the greatest American writers that ever lived. He has had his issues, but genius comes with its own baggage-

hmm, maybe this reminds you of one of the biggest genius/schmucks in history- Steve Jobs.

Used to love his writings but his political views have turned me off to him.
This is why you try and ignore things like that and just enjoy the entertainment they bring.

I have a surprising amount of Tom Cruise movies although I think Cruise is a pretty despicable person. I love Frank MIllers' catalog of comic work and do my best to ignore his radical political rantings. Loved the comic Cerebus for a long time all the while having to ignore Sims over-the-top misogyny and radical religious beliefs.

Just a few examples of ignoring parts of a person that makes up who they are just to enjoy the parts that aren't so disagreeable. If you don't develop your skill you have a lifetime of disappointment in people ahead of you while depriving yourself of some good entertainment. No one is perfect you'll find something you dislike in everyone as you get to know them better. George R.R. Martin seems like one of the most chill and nicest dudes around but the more I found out about his life and who he is there are things that bug me about him, but I'll always enjoy his books.

I'm not sure why you would conflate genius/success with "decent human beings."

Two things can be true at once---you can be the greatest in your field at something and still be a terrible human.

I think that's what @DanTSX was saying. And your response did not contradict his/her statement.

Wait what?! WTF? He's in hospital apparently dying and she just can't wait?
I'm hoping there's another explanation. Like she thought she would need the space for home care for him.
