Really! Just how many “new lines” do the phone companies think we need to add?

I never understood these "add a new line" deals.

If you're an existing customer... shouldn't you already have the number of lines you need?

Mom, dad, two kids... are you gonna add a fifth line just to get a free phone?

I guess that phone isn't really free if you have to pay a monthly fee for another line.

I find all the "with new line" deals amusing, because they seem to discourage customer loyalty. If all the best deals are for new customers, then the best deals for existing customers are with other carriers.

Just shows how much profit they are making off their regular monthly billing to offer "free" stuff.

It's totally allowed. The companies rely on you not wanting to deal with the hassle of having a new phone number every year/2 years.
Yup, and they're right. That hassle is, for me, more trouble than it's worth. I've had my number for 20 years and want to keep it.
