Best Buy today launched a new 2-day sale, offering discounts on the 12-inch MacBook, 5th generation iPad, 10.5-inch iPad Pro, and iPhone X, 8, and 8 Plus. For the 2017 MacBook models on sale, Best Buy's prices this weekend are coming in around $100-$150 cheaper than B&H Photo and Adorama, while last year's 9.7-inch iPad is between $30-$50 cheaper than rival retailers in the new sale.

Lordy Lord...as much as I could use one, can't bring myself to spend $1100 on an m3-based Macbook. Probably one of the few Apple products that won't hold it's value.
Having had a 13" Air from 2013 through 2015 and a 12" MacBook m3 from December 2015 to present, I can say hands-down the MacBook is the one to go with. Unless you are a port snob, the MacBook is an improvement on the Air in every way.
Having owned several Macbook Pros and Airs as well as twice trying the new Macbook for several days, I cannot get used to the shallow travel the keyboard imposes on you. What's a port "snob"? Some people don't like carrying dongles, it's a preference, not a thing to look down on.
Battery life on the Air is still unsurpassed for the power it provides. The person's wife is used to a 13" non-Retina display and going from a 2012 Pro to a current Air is definitely a great improvement and a low-cost upgrade, given the excellent on-sale prices for the Air.
The Macbook's improvements are limited to 2 areas, screen & weight. Battery life, ports, keyboard quality and CPU power are all better on the Air.
