In the first drone update since Apple officially named its Spaceship campus "Apple Park," Matthew Roberts has shared an ongoing look at the progress of the campus as it grows ever closer to the official employee move-in date in April. The last collection of video updates came at the end of January and saw walkways, lamps, and parking lots beginning to appear on the site.

Now, the R&D center is "as polished as ever," according to Roberts' newest aerial update video. On the vehicle garages, solar panel installation is finally at 100 percent completion, while the main circular building has received more solar panels but progress on that front has yet to be completed.

As is usual for these updates, landscaping efforts are a major part of the continued construction on the site. Now, more trees have appeared above the underground tunnel and workers are prepping the area to finish the meadows surrounding the campus. The walkways part of last month's update can be seen cutting through the campus as well -- in total there will be 2 miles of walkways at Apple Park.

Other updates include "major changes" to the fitness center and the ongoing progress to the large courtyard inside of the main building. In the center, more drought resistant trees have been planted and more landscape features have appeared. More than 12,000 employees will work at Apple Park, including company CEO Tim Cook.

In its official announcement last week, Apple mentioned that the theater at Apple Park will be named the "Steve Jobs Theater" after the late CEO, who would have turned 62 last Friday. The theater is one of the buildings that won't be open when the campus begins moving employees in this April, and is expected to officially be ready later this year.

Excited to see it in its fully completed form. Apple Park, new iPads, new iPhone, new Watch? And hopefully other goodies to come this year.

Can't believe there are people that say "this is just an office building..."
It is just an office building. The Mona Lisa is just a painting. The SR-71 Blackbird is just an airplane. My 69 Mustang is just a car (not really, but for the purposes of my argument I will blaspheme - forgive me Erma). The emotional response elicited from you regarding those things is what's important... to you. Not everyone feels the same way. To me, The Orchard - 'cuz much better name than Apple Park - is a nice looking office building. To you it might mean more. To me my Mustang is a work of art. Partially because she's beautiful, mostly because I rebuilt her with these two hands (you can't see them, but trust me, I have them). To you and everyone else it better f'n be the same thing.:D

They should erect a 150 foot pole in the very center of the round inner courtyard with a giant model of the first generation iPhone perched on top.
And every year at the the summer solstice, mirrors precisely angled around the roof top can angle the sun towards the iPhone idol and it will shine in brilliance at 12 noon while all the Apple employees get down on their knees and pray to it.

I don't know. Just an idea.

I had that discussion last month with two forum members who were saying "It's just another office building that's round" or "There are much more appealing architectures out their than this."
I was one of those people. To me, both the above statements are true. To others, the Apple HQ is something special. That doesn't make any party more right or wrong than the other. It just makes for differing opinions.

Some people are closed minded and glib, where they can't see the appreciation beyond a photo or aerial shot of Apple Park. To me, what a privilege to have a new building with new amenities to take advantage of. And it's an awesome looking building that will perhaps refresh the outlook of where Apple employee's work.
You seem to be confusing a closed mind with having a differing opinion. A closed mind refuses to accept any other position but their own. You see it as an awesome looking building, someone else might see it as an architecturally technical leap forward, and yes, someone might see it as just an office building. Those opinions could also contain varying degrees of agreement with other positions, i.e. it's an office building that happens to look good. Painting dissenting opinion with the broad brush of "closed mindedness" tends to devalue all of the opinions... including your own.

And (Off-Topic)....in Post #10, you provided an example of a car that you own with a 69Mustang. Speaking of someone with a good memory, if I also recall based on these forums, you also mentioned that car examples are overly used on Macrumors for practical purposes. Does that include your car example? :D
For what it's worth, having the opinion that car examples are overused (an opinion I share) does not mean that they should not be used at all, merely that they are, well, overused. Some folks, when asked about the nature of square roots, or the physics of black holes, will struggle to find a way to insert a car analogy into their explanation. What 69Mustang was doing, on the other hand, was quite reasonably using his car as an example of something for which he has a particular appreciation. It could just as well have been his coffeemaker, if that is what he really likes, but he referenced his car because that answer was truthful and accurate (as far as I can tell). I'd call that a good use of a car example.

Off topic, yes, but I appreciate a good discussion about logic. :)
