No problem on coverage in most areas

Ok, I know I am not a math genius, but I thought $160 - $120 = $40 savings, not $20. Am I missing something?

Coverage with T-Mobile is absolutely incredible these days, at least everywhere we go it is much better than AT&T.

I live in a city surrounded by rural areas. In the last two years LTE coverage in the dead spots has increased significantly. I'm very happy with T-Mobile.

If, by "most areas" you mean the entire continental United States, their coverage map would beg to differ with you. Going even further, based on my own experience with an iPad Pro that's currently using T-Mobile, their coverage map seems to be overly "optimistic".

People with devices older than an iPhone 6S will not have band 12 LTE coverage, this is why they have poor T-Mobile coverage as most of the new network is band 12 LTE. For a list of compatible devices visit T-Mobiles website

That's probably because they are using devices older than the iPhone 6S which do not have band 12 LTE coverage which is most of T-Mobiles new expanded network.

Is there any way to personally test my coverage? I'm interested in this offer, and I no longer am stuck on a contract with AT&T...

Their map looks pretty good to me... their map says that customers have verified coverage is Good or Excellent in most places where I go.

I went to T-Mobile earlier this year. Coverage was just terrible. Had to leave. The ideas and pricing is great, but when you can't get coverage, any price is too much. Will try again in a few years maybe, but for now it's just a no-go. For reference, I'm in Michigan, lower peninsula. Coverage in the major metros is fine, but get 15 minutes outside town and you're dead in the water. Not just degraded coverage - NO coverage. I hope they keep working on it.

What device were you using?? Was it an iPhone older than the 6s? If the device did not have band 12 LTE you wont get coverage
