List of Apple Stores That Will Carry the Apple Watch Edition at Launch

Following reports that Apple Watch Edition stock will be limited to select Apple Stores in the United States and other launch countries, MacRumors has discovered that Apple's Find Locations tool enables prospective buyers to search their local area to check for Apple Watch Edition availability. Below, we have identified some of the major cities and metropolitan areas in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong and Japan that will carry the Edition.

Apple Find Locations Watch Edition
To check Apple Watch Edition availability in your local area, navigate to Apple's Find Locations website, click on Sales, use your current GPS-based location or enter another one, select Watch Edition from the list of all products, and click on the Go button. I still can't comprehend dropping $10-17k on a first gen product that will be outdated in a year. (But I guess to some folks, that's not a lot of money)

That's a surprisingly short list.

One can find (real) Rolex Presidents in jewelry stores in just about any Mall. Smaller malls may hardly ever sell one but showing one can drive sales of lower-priced alternatives. Once one contemplates $17K (even in wildest fantasies), prices at $1200 or $1000 can seem like bargains.

It's a very common jewelry-industry tactic to display the President to shock an interested buyer (with the price tag reveal) and then show them another Rolex that probably costs 50 times more than the one they have on their wrist and it will seem much more affordable. In college, I sold a ton of Rolex watches via that very scenario.

However, it doesn't work the other way. If they look at a Rolex look-a-like from Seiko or similar at a few hundred dollars, it almost never leads to the sale of a Rolex President.

Even with the security risk, I'm surprised Apple didn't go with one in just about every store. Stock 1 or 2 for those who would actually buy one on the spot and be ready to rush more in as they sell. At $17K, they could even do "white glove" delivery and in-home setup if they ran out of stock of that model.

i hate going to the stupid grove store.
Why don't you send an assistant to go get it, then? Anyone that can buy an Edition can have their peon go get it for them.
