Continuing the carrier war that has seen the major U.S. wireless companies offering various forms of bonus data allotments in recent months, AT&T today announced a new limited-time promotion that bumps the 10 GB data package ($100 per month plus device access charges) to 15 GB.

The promotional 15GB Mobile Share Value plan at the 10GB price is available to new and existing AT&T consumer and business customers and includes domestic unlimited talk and text, and the nation’s most reliable 4G LTE network. Customers can easily take advantage of this new offer by visiting att.com and our current AT&T customers can also select the new plan via their myAT&T app.

Additionally, AT&T customers can get unlimited international messaging (text, picture and video) on all Mobile Share Value plans for no additional cost. Unlimited international messaging includes messages sent from the U.S., Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands to more than 190 countries for text messages and 120 countries for picture & video messages.

Monthly smartphone device access charges are $40 for those on two-year contracts or $15 for those on AT&T Next or who purchased their devices at full price. Tablets carry a $10 per month access fee.

AT&T's latest promotion comes as the carrier continues to offer its double data promotion on higher-tier plans. Under that deal, users on base plans ranging from 15 to 50 GB can receive double the amount of data per month. The new promotion for upgrading the 10 GB plan to 15 GB begins tomorrow, while the double data promotion on higher-level plans is ongoing. AT&T advertises both as being "limited time" promotions, but is not currently specifying an end date for either one.

20 Hours of video?

So if casual user like myself (who is always traveling) watched one hour long episode a day, by months end I would have went over my limit.

Forget bindge watching.

No thanks AT&T. I'll stick with T-Mobile.

I'm not against data caps, just against unreasonable ones. It should be:

25gb for $10
50gb for $20
75gb for $30
100gb for $40

Not

10gb for $10
20gb for $20
30gb for $30
40gb for $40

If you have the capital, it's cheaper to buy an unlocked phone up front and you don't have a contract.
Or if you don't have the capital, try Next. You still get the off-contract pricing and an interest free loan to pay off the phone with no penalty for early payoff.

Just switched even though I don't even use close to 10 gigs. More never hurt though.

I had 5 lines on the 10gb plan with a 21% FAN discount and after switching over; Tmobile's 2.5gb til 2016 deal is still about 40 bucks cheaper per month with technically MORE data since all my usage was from streaming music to begin with. I haven't even cleared 1gb in the last 2 months because of Music Unlimited.

Sorry At&t... Maybe if your prices were lower or my FAN account actually covered the whole plan instead of just the Data.

lol lets be frank here. AT&T is just playing price games just to be clear. it cost them almost $0 to offer this to customers so its hardly a reason to celebrate or be sympathetic to a mega-corporation. if they really wanted to be that generous, they would've just doubled it to 20gb. next year you'll see them double the double…

I guess what you call price games the industry would call competition. It's fierce right now which is a great thing for the consumer. But there will always be those consumers that will find something to complain about.

----------

Wireless companies all screw you as a consumer. It's just a matter of picking what facet of their service/product you want to be screwed in the least.

Oh brother. How exactly is the wireless customer getting screwed? They offer a service and you either do or don't agree to pay for said service. It's like you people think these for profit companies owe you something for free!

----------

Of course there's not an end date to these "promotions" because they will become the standard pricing most likely. That is, until they lower the pricing again within 6 months to a year. Competition in the marketplace is a wonderful thing!

Glad someone here gets it.
