Apple to Provide Song Snippets for Music Video App Musical.ly

Apple is teaming up with popular music video app Musical.ly to promote Apple Music, reports Recode. Apple will soon provide song snippets and clips to the service, which is designed to let users create and share their own music videos.

Apple Music content will be replacing content from UK-based provider 7digital as soon as tomorrow.

Through the partnership with Apple, and with Apple's access to licensing deals, Musical.ly will be able to expand the number of countries where it is available from 30 to 120.

Musical.ly, which calls itself an entertainment social network, has been around since August of 2014, but has recently seen a surge in popularity among teenagers. In exchange for the right to use Apple Music content, Musical.ly will promote the Apple Music service to its users and will let Apple Music subscribers listen to full songs within the Musical.ly app.

This is the most cancerous app on the platform, making the utmost talentless bimbos imaginable famous.

It's growing popularity should really invoke concern for our youth.

And no I'm not being salty, just 2 minutes of YouTube research into the matter and you will contemplate stabbing your eyes.

I have, quite popular in the UK it seems. And with pre-teens.
I guess this will be the end of it though. I guess Apple will swallow them and incorporate in Apple Music and then it will die.
I see why Apple is interested though, very young audience, get them on the bandwagon early...

What is all this obsession with youth?
Future source of loyal customers once they grow up, get jobs and can buy more things Apple-branded. They will already have been ensnared in the Apple ecosystem while young and impressionable.

Exactly what I expected

Yes, because only your taste matters.

Because there aren't teenager girls in this world.

Because a couple of kids making funny videos and dancing to songs is so bad.

"concern for our youth"

This, and MTV back in the 90s...

Apple always has been a consumer company, not "now".

Business are boring, laggards, pay bad and will never look at Apple's design and details.
Of course only my taste matters. It's my taste. Of course talentless bimbos should be told so. It's how talentless bimbos get to be not talentless bimbos. It's how things improve. You change what is bad and do something good. Apple go the other way. They used to be the computer company that made computers that just worked. They made the best computers. They made the computers pros used and gave the brand credibility and status. Now they pander to talentless bimbos and kid themselves they are cool because they have lost their criteria or yardstick. They have no clue what is good or worthy. They only see the parents of 13 year olds buying phones like crazy and think that's an industry. They think making office blocks round is significant. They think design is all about looks and the people who agree with them buy Apple: the talentless bimbos.
The people who bought Apple before the talentless bimbos are naffed off because the brand they came to like and rely on has been sold down the river to talentless bimbos. There is still just enough of the original Apple left in the ecosystem to warrant speaking out and trying to convince Apple of their silliness. Of course we all know that if that doesn't work we can simply buy PCs and get on with the job like we used to. Apple hasn't got that message yet because of the talentless, blinkered, deluded bimbos who work there.

Its huge, but with the younger generation. My daughters have and use this all the time.
Same here. Some of the videos/clips are actually very good.
